Pink Green Creative!
So at the moment I'm currently working a lovely design studio in Newbury called PinkGreen, where there is always a happy monday to a happy friday, the team there is wicked and really have made me feel so welcome. I've been working there for the last three weeks and only have one week left, its gone so fast!
I've been working on two main projects, one is to do with a client called little tree which sell car air fresheners, people in the uk know there products to be called magic trees, however I have been working with Wunder-Baum which is sold in other european countries! I have been working on a new design for a female tree to fit in with two other trees, so the set becomes a trio. I need to do some small refinements and then hopefully it will get put into research!
I have also been working on a pro–mo idea for pinkgreen that was given out at a charity event called Success in the city. The idea that we went with was to use successful people, as that was the main theme of the event. We had to create 400 pro–mo gifts as well as creating vinyl stickers which we put onto the bathrooms mirrors of the East Wintergarden venue . Check out the blog post by pinkgreen to see how we got on at the charity event!

I was so happy to be involved with this project and had a wicked time doing it. I've never done anything with vinyl stickers before and defiantly want to do something with them again. I feel as though I'm learning a lot here, i'm going to be sad when I have to go!

Poole Library

Here is some photography I took today in Poole library. Most of the people in these pictures we got to speak to, and they all had very interesting stories to tell. Our new project is observing in a new space, taking in all our surroundings and reacting and asking questions. Interviewing these people helped us get an insight into how the library is used and the relevance of it in people's lives. I think I will hopefully get a chance to go back there and speak to more people about there time at the library. It could seem a little boring to some but when you look at all the little details it can be very interesting.
Berty's Playground
This was created for a narrative project on Berty. Berty is a made up character and the film shows only snippets of the beauty that is in Berty's everyday life. I filmed it all on a canon 5d mark 2, edited on premier pro.
BBC X 365 Design blog
This is my final design:

The BBC news blog is pretty wicked, it has some great illustrations and often has different designers contributing! I find it a more interesting way of finding out the news, check it out! http://365xbbc.tumblr.com/
Barbican Leaflet - Whats on in October
The Barbican art gallery gives out information on the events for each month. We was given their October month and had to redesign it. The key part of this project was to think about the hierarchical system on the page, and how it engages the reader. This meant I also needed to think about format, I could manipulate the format so that the reader would follow the sequence of the events in the correct order.
At first I tried creating a standard booklet structure. Then I came up with being able to tear off every little part of the page. So that you could deconstruct the whole thing if you wanted to. The main idea was so that you could tear off the event you may be interested in and be able to keep it, but I thought it would be fun if you could do it so there was nothing left of it and it became something completely different. I really liked the finished idea as I think it was very easy to understand and read through it.

Jammmedia html email

Jammmedia Animation!
After just over a week I have finally finished the animation for the new Jammmedia website! It was a really fun project as I could be really creative! Me and and Aaron (another person doing work experience) were asked to come up with a few ideas for it.
One of my ideas was using fingers, as there is only three of them in the team so I was thinking about using three fingers, one each representing each person.

Aaron came up with these really cute little people and I had an idea of a paper aeroplane coming in and then pulling words in and other objects being in it, that could also bring in words. After looking at our ideas, they liked both of them so we tried to combine them. In the end they choose my idea for the structure for the animation and Aaron's little people would be in it. Aaron also made the little people actually look like the Jammmedia team, so it felt a lot more personal to them.
I did have a few problems with the animation, such as when the first "hello" letters float into the animation, they weren't following the right guide path and it was getting a bit confusing because there was so many on the stage. In the end I recreated the guide paths as it was just getting to complicated, and then it worked!
I created most of the things in the animation using found objects. Such as the aeroplane, kite and hot air balloon. The hot air balloon was created from a photograph I took of a balloon, then I drew over it, scanned it back in and then added colours in photoshop.
For some reason I cant seem to export it into a quicktime file, but this is a link to it if you want to check it out! http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1281431014Anyways, I made a present for my friend for her birthday, its just a little collage of some of the things that she likes and other random things that we love. Although I didn't buy the extravagant frame for her, you get the idea! This is a scanned in version so the quality maybe not so great.

For my Britishness animation.. I thought about the things that happen everyday, that we don't pay that much attention to, just as making a cup of tea! I know that tea originated from china, however we are one of the few countries that drink our tea with milk and sugar! I really learnt a lot from this project such as making movie clips within movie clips! This video did originally have more text in it, however I felt that it didn't really need it as the movie itself is quite fast pace.
My response for the Tough on Stains exhibition
As I was given one sock I came up with a number of ideas to do with it such as cheese, feet and washing machines! I started to think what would the socks feelings be.. As I was only given one, I thought of things such as, "I've lost my brother", "the washing machine ate my brother" or "I love the smell of cheese!". I started to think about my feelings of feet. I really do not like them as they usually smell pretty bad and they don't really look that attractive either! If you think about it, socks only have the purpose in their life of keeping feet warm and comfortable! If I was a sock I would hate feet!.. Which is where I came to my finished piece! I hate feet.
Tough On Stains

The item of clothing was dropped off at night and I did not know what piece of clothing was going to be!
Below shows my lost and found item of clothing I was given!

The free, two day exhibition will see an on-going silent auction in support of Poole charity ‘Creative Kids’ with musical delights provided through-out the two day event by the ever popular Big in Japan ‘Plastic Hearts’ and 'Stab Vest For Captain' DJs!
‘Tough on Stains’ is bringing you good clean art.

Hello World!
Helloooo! Basically had a tutorial today on using flash software, so I thought I would try and do a short little animation.. I based it on my first blog post.. and thought about how I would really want "hello world" to look like :D .. I guess this is how I would...
BARRRY!
Well this may seem pretty random, and to be honest it is! I was pretty bored so I thought I would just do something that came into my head. I do not have an obsession with Barry Manilow, its just a phrase that happens to turn up a lot in my life!
